There is no better place to stay - Van der Valk Hotels

In 1935 Martin and Riet van der Valk founded their little tourist cafe "De Gouden Leeuw in Voorschoten (Netherlands). In the beginning, only soft drinks and coffee were sold, but they soon started to prepare pancakes and other treats for your hungry guests. The news of good food and drink at honest prices spread rapidly and soon the place was too small and had to be added to a café.

Meanwhile, we also established a butcher, as the couple sought, the products that need their restaurants and later their hotels, even manufacture and market. Today, the group comprises including furniture stores, furniture manufacturers, kitchen designers and tour operators. When in 1939 the street, where was the restaurant, was widened, the tourist cafe demolished and built a new building with 10 hotel rooms.

As Martin van der Valk, died in 1969, there were already 16 Hotels and Restaurants! The foundation stone was laid for the family group, because for every son and daughter of the large family, there was already a hotel or a restaurant available. As the years grew to grandchildren and great grandchildren in the family group, which today includes more than 80 hotels and restaurants.

Since the beginning, each operation is run by a family member and it is not surprising that despite the enormous growth of the Van der Valk hotel chain, the personal and family atmosphere remained. Whether you are in Germany, Holland, Belgium, France, Spain, the Netherlands Antilles or in the USA / Florida when you see our emblem, the Toucan, you know that you have found the ideal place to relax, unwind, days, and for many other activities- and the price / performance ratio has traditionally been very good.

The first hotel was opened in Germany in 1986 in Moers. Today, the Van der Valk group with 11 hotels, two resorts and two indoor ski slopes and a water-plant in the German market presence. All hotels are near large cities, conveniently located and offer mostly free parking.
